In the library of Aoba University, a chance touch of fingertips amid falling petals quietly intertwines the fates of Aya Hoshino and Saki Tsukishiro. They grow closer through silence and everyday moments, only to be torn apart just before graduation by job opportunities in Tokyo and Osaka. On the rooftop, they exchange tokens and make a promise: to meet again in three years at Aoba Station. During the three years apart, Aya remains in Tokyo. She resigns from her position at a publishing house, takes over a struggling used bookstore, and transforms it into "Hoshino Books."
