The Moon's Descent
Yan Qinghui was a pharmacist known in the underworld as the "Ghost Hand," living alone in an old mansion in the south of the city. He possessed countless ancient remedies, but his temper was eccentric and difficult to deal with. Su Jinnian, the youngest teaching assistant at the pharmacy school, moved into his mansion on sheer nerve, seeking a cure for her sister's cold toxin—an ailment even Yan Qinghui admitted was tricky. She stayed there, half assistant, half patient, dancing around him. Between them lay an old grudge: Yan Qinghui thought she was too sharp-witted, and Su Jinnian thought he was too arrogant. Tonight, Su Jinnian had tampered with the medicine she was brewing herself, wanting to gamble and see just where Yan Qinghui’s bottom line lay.
